THE COMEDY WRITING ONE-DAY MASTERCLASS
This one-day workshop with veteran comedy writer and producer Paul Bassett Davies is a master-class that covers everything from writing basic gags and one-liners to sitcom, comedy-drama series, feature films, and writing comedy for digital platforms. It's a unique opportunity to learn and practice the craft of writing comedy. Whether you’re just starting out, or you're a writer who wants to develop your comedy skills, the series of practical exercises in this workshop give you a tool-kit to make your material funnier in any format or medium you're writing for, be it film, TV, radio, theatre, stand-up, YouTube or Twitter. Paul is a highly experienced writer, director and actor. He founded the Crystal Theatre, whose pioneering multimedia work was acclaimed in Britain and Europe. He created a series of one-man shows, two of which were Perrier Award finalists at the Edinburgh Festival, and others that were innovative theatrical experiences. Radio and television credits include: Smith and Jones, Rory Bremner, Spitting Image, Jasper Carrot and many more. He's had his own sitcom on BBC R4, a series with Jeremy Hardy, and he produced Sony Award winning BBC radio series Do Go On, which he wrote with Griff Rhys Jones and Graeme Garden. He wrote the screenplay for The Magic Roundabout feature film, and several short films. Paul's latest novel, 'Dead Writers in Rehab' was published recently and is now available at bookshops and HERE.
