A PRACTICAL COURSE ENABLING WRITERS TO DEVELOP ORIGINAL TV SERIES IDEAS INTO COMPLETED TREATMENTS
STUCK AT THE STARTERS’ BLOCK? If you have a fabulous, original idea for a TV drama series but somehow haven’t quite managed to collect your thoughts and get it down on paper yet, you probably need a more structured approach. HOW TO GET MOVING: Sensible deadlines, together with expert guidance and professional feedback, will galvanize you into action and make procrastination a thing of the past. WHAT’S INVOLVED? This intensive introductory two-stage workshop has been designed to enable you to develop your idea from initial concept right through to a detailed blueprint from which to write (and market) your drama series. You’ll learn how to troubleshoot your project, hone your analytical skills, unleash your creativity, make sound editorial decisions and develop effective new working practices. |

· Concept · Format · Theme · Market · Pitch · Characters · Story · Set-up · Treatment COURSE STRUCTURE The course takes place over two consecutive Sundays, with the week in-between to allow for project development. Places are limited so please apply early. Some preparation work will be required prior to start date. All participants will be sent an Information Pack in advance. |

TUTOR
Anji Loman Field has been writing drama for television, radio and film for over two decades. A former contract writer for EastEnders, she has also written for BBC’s Holby City and Doctors. She penned 40 episodes of Taste of Life for BBC Media Action in Cambodia and was the creator and show-runner of House of Many Windows, set in Vietnam. She has taught at Central Film School, the London Institute (LCP), West Herts College and the RCA. Her former students include Mike Bullen, creator of Cold Feet and writer/producer/director Sean McConville (Deadline; The Quiet Hour). |
