WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Great stories often hide their methods.
This workshop uncovers them. We’ll look closely at how master storytellers design stories that percolate in the minds of audiences long after they end. Planting ideas, breaking patterns at perfect moments, generally understanding the deep ways in which we engage with story. We'll explore:
And many more methods, giving you a valuable range of inspiring tools. Topics will be framed by:
Writers in all genres who want to "look under the hood" of storytelling, apply a deep knowledge of human psychology to their narratives, and learn techniques that shape emotion, build suspense, and leave lasting impact. Because what makes a story truly memorable isn’t just what happens. It's how it's told. HOW IT WILL WORK
The two-day format will give you plenty of opportunity to discuss and absorb the workshop's ideas, and for the exercises to help you commit them to memory.
If you bring the germ of an idea to the class we'll work out ways to apply the various topics to it as they're introduced and explained. |
