Whether you’re seeking funding from an established studio, or setting out to make a micro-budget film, you’ll leave this weekend with a comprehensive game-plan of how to get your Script to Screen.

Euroscript is developing its film production training arm to respond to the wealth of talent needing the tools to progress to the next step.  Intensely hands-on, this weekend course is designed for both writers, producers and directors who want to get their film made.

About the Course

After taking this course YOU’LL LEAVE WITH a comprehensive practical and creative strategy to realise the full potential of your getting your project made – specifically:

  • THE SCRIPT – a logline, a one page pitching document and a clear conceptual summary of your project to help you pitch effectively
  • A WRITTEN, FOCUSSED, GAMEPLAN – both short and long-term for your future as a filmmaker
  • A TIMELINE – when to do what (pre-pre production, pre-production, shooting and post)
  • A DETAILED LIST OF SPECIFIC PEOPLE TO APPROACH - including financiers, distributors, production and TV companies, actors, crew and agents
  • SAMPLE CONTRACTS and FORMS - covering location permissions, Letters of Intent and Budget Templates
  • A FILM TRAILER SCRIPT – with detailed plan on how to execute the promo
  • A WEBSITE – created during the course to promote your movie

How to make cheap look expensive and other ways to get more bang for your buck including:

  • creating gripping sequences from lo-to-no story
  • being smart with your locations
  • effective use of mood boards and story boards to create a buzz around your project
  • high genre = lo budget;  using style to make small look big
  • tried and tested tips for attracting top talent
  • how to break down a script in order to take the emotional temperature of key scenes
  • rewriting – from early drafts to shooting script – what should a producer be aware of?
  • how style and creativity can cut through the lo-budget constraints
  • how to identify your audience before you make your fillm

About the Tutors

MATT TROMANS

After spending many years in Hollywood working with two time Academy Award nominee Nick Nolte, he recently returned to Europe where he continues to write, direct and develop high profile projects.

His first film as a producer ‘Off The Black’, in association with Forensic Films NYC (Gummo, Julien Donkey Boy, Raising Victor Vargas), premiered strongly at the Sundance Film Festival and was subsequently picked up for Theatrical Distribution by Think Film. His most recent film as a producer starred Ewen Bremner (Trainspotting, Black Hawk Down), Dina Korzun (Last Resort, Forty Shades of Blue) and Nutsa Kukhianidze (Good Thief) and has recently been selected as Georgia’s official entry for the best foreign language category at the Academy Awards.

Matt has worked closely with internationally renowned writers and directors including Ang Lee, Neil Jordan and Olivier Assayas.
