What is the Script Clinic?

Our Script Clinic has been a fixture at the London Screenwriter’s Festival for the last three years. We’ve been amazed at the positive reaction to it – and how much ground our Script Doctors (and the writers they were helping) were managing to cover in a relatively short conversation.

So we’ve decided to keep the Clinic open all year round. But now it’ll be a virtual “drop-in” service, accessible in the comfort of your own home.

Someone to talk to

If you’ve been to the LSF you’ll have seen the Clinic in action. It’s very straightforward: a one-to-one meeting with someone who has a lot of screenwriting expertise, has read your story and is there to help you with it. Some people had an outline for a story and were wondering if it had the “legs” to justify further development; others were at a more advanced stage, but knew some problems needed to be solved before they could get their script finished.

24-Hour Emergency Call-Out

Sometimes when you run into problems with your script, you don’t want to wait a couple of weeks for someone to write a report – no matter how detailed or helpful it may be. You want to keep writing, and you need help quickly. That’s where the Clinic comes in.

What’s more useful than talking, face to face, with a sympathetic and knowledgeable person who can put you on the right track? Written reports have their place; sometimes they’re crucial. But so is the opportunity to ask direct questions and get immediate answers.

What Does it Cost, and What Should I Do?

We wanted to keep costs at a minimum for this service, so we’re charging just £45 for a 50-minute consultation – the same length as our sessions at the LSF - which should get you back up and running with your story.

You can send us a 10-page section of your script, or a synopsis of two pages or less, telling us what you feel isn’t working, and how you’d like us to help. Or just give us a brief outline of a story you're proposing to write.

We’ll get back in touch and arrange a Skype consultation with one of our expert editors within the next 24 hours – or whenever is the best time for you.
