THREE DAYS ON THE SECRETS OF THE PROFESSIONAL WRITER IN OUR WRITERS' ROOM
The best way to learn to write professionally is in a professional Writers' Room - so we've built one for you!
In this three-day Summer School you'll learn the serious craft that underpins the art - in a fun way.
As you walk in, you'll find yourself in the Writers' Room, ready to role-play as a professional screenwriter.
You'll work in teams and be given film and TV commissions that are designed to stretch you and teach you.
You'll learn the professional approach to real screenwriting problems from A-Z.
As you go, the phone will ring, bringing a range of typical challenges - it could be anything from the star throwing a tantrum about his lines to the producer asking for new scenes for her boyfriend.
You learn to work quickly and artistically - using professional techniques with confidence - from finding your structure and developing believable, exciting characters, to creating subtext and dealing with exposition.
The fun "reality TV" approach means you learn faster because you're enjoying yourself and finding skills you didn't know you had.
For beginners, it's a solid introduction to the craft. For experienced writers, it will give you invaluable tools to solve script problems and let your projects fly.
