We are now open for entries for the Euroscript Screen Story Competition 2011. We are looking for writers with powerful story ideas and original voices who are willing to commit to a rigorous writing programme with help from their script editor.
1st Prize
The winning writer will receive one-on-one professional guidance to develop his/her screen story from treatment or first draft. Working closely with one of Euroscript's professional script consultants, the writer will have the opportunity to complete up to three drafts with a full script report at each stage of the development process. In addition, the writer will have regular scheduled meetings with his/her consultant and continuing email and telephone support. At the end of the process, which will take place over a period of between six to nine months, the winning writer will be given help and advice on marketing the script. 2nd Prize
One writer will be awarded an in-depth Euroscript script report (usually five to six pages), together with a meeting with their script editor and e-mail and telephone support.
3rd Prize
Three writers will win the third prize of one of Euroscript’s bullet-point script reports on any screenplay of their choice.
All other entries receive a free bullet point report
To enter the Euroscript Screen Story Competion 2011 you need to submit a two page prose outline of the story you want to develop, plus ten pages of sample script, which can either be a complete short film or an extract from a full length screenplay (either the one you wish to develop through Euroscript or another screenplay you have completed); the sample must include a mixture of action and dialogue.
Price per entry: £35.
Deadline for entries is midnight on 31st March 2011.
The shortlist will be announced in May 2011.
The winners will be announced in June 2011.
Please note: All rights in the winning screenplay and related materials, such as the outline, remain with the writer. Euroscript acknowledges all writer's legal rights and submissions will be read in the strictest confidence.
