Tuesday 10th May
Horror
6.15pm to 9.30pm
Tutor: Ian Long
Writing a high intensity serious story can be difficult for a writer who is not familiar with the detailed demands of the genres involved.
Approached in the right way, each genre can yield rich and exciting stories. We will discuss recent developments in Horror, think through the core requirements of the genre, and suggest how writers can satisfy audience expectations.
We'll see what elements each demands and how they can combine with each other and other genres to make successful cross-genre film and TV dramas of a wide variety of kinds.
We will also help you tease out which genre or genres are at work in your own projects, and give advice and feedback on how to strengthen their effect and make them work to the advantage of the script.
