FEEDBACK (new and follow up)
I prefer to work on Zoom so I can gauge where you're at and talk through your needs. Sometimes it's just good to have a chat about a project and bring it into focus or get it back on track.
If you're a beginner I'll show you around software and help you with format. For those more experienced, we can work on structure, dialogue and polish. Remember to book reading time - generally a minute per page. Please email me on Nicola@rocketroom.co.uk to check my availability before booking. |

WORD CRAFT FOR CHARACTERS & DIALOGUE
Making memorable characters is one of a writer's biggest challenges - readers need to be able to 'hear', visualise and remember them.
Similarly, when it comes to attaching cast, you want great actors dying to play the parts you've written. Do your characters have their own voices? Are they authentic or simply feel like a story device. Is the dialogue expositional, cliched or wooden? We can look at one character, a scene or the whole script together. Please book reading time - a minute per page is a good rule of thumb. |

Pitching
Are you shaking in your boots? Wishing the ground would swallow you up? Don't worry, I know how you feel. Most writers are not naturally good at pitching. Good news is, practicing in front of someone will refine your craft, make a huge difference to your style and content.
This will help you grab the listeners attention, feel more confident and give you some techniques to quell your fears. |
